Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to all apps and services published by SEY Solutions (ABN 13 531 353 123), operated by Jack Dempsey. This includes SparkyToolkit, Banjo, Melt, ElecCalc, Smart Batch, and any future products.

Information We Collect

Apps that store data on your device only

Melt and Banjo (free tier) store all data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information from these apps. Your data never leaves your phone.

Apps with accounts or cloud features

SparkyToolkit and Banjo Pro (iCloud sync) may collect:

• Email address (for account creation and communication)
• Usage data (calculator usage, feature interactions) to improve the product
• Crash reports and diagnostics (via Apple or third-party crash reporting)

Cobber AI (SparkyToolkit)

Cobber answers. To deliver Cobber's answer if your connection drops, the finished answer (with the clauses it cites and its suggested follow-up questions) is kept on our server in Sydney, Australia for up to 15 minutes, then deleted. It is usually deleted sooner, once the app has shown it to you; signing out also asks our server to delete it. Your questions and photos are not stored. A record that a question was asked, without any text, is kept for up to 8 days to count your weekly free questions, then deleted. For cost control and to find faults, we also keep one usage record per question, linked to your account: your plan (free or Pro), the AI model used, the number of tokens and the cost, and (without any of your words) the type of topic and the references of the standards clauses used. It never contains your question, the answer or your photo, and is kept for up to 400 days. Deleting your account deletes all of this immediately.

Local notifications

Banjo uses local push notifications to remind you about upcoming subscription renewals. These notifications are generated and scheduled entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to any server. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Exchange rate data

Banjo fetches live currency exchange rates from the open.er-api.com API to convert subscription costs between currencies. These requests contain only currency codes (e.g. AUD, USD) and no personal information. No user data, device identifiers, or account information is transmitted as part of these requests.

Website and waitlists

If you join a waitlist (e.g. Banjo waitlist), we collect your email address. This is stored in Supabase and used only to notify you when the product launches. We do not sell or share your email with third parties.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain our apps and services
• To process subscriptions and payments (via Apple App Store or Stripe)
• To send product updates or launch notifications (waitlist only)
• To improve our products based on aggregated, anonymised usage data
• To respond to support requests

Third-Party Services

Our apps may use the following third-party services:

• Apple App Store for app distribution and in-app purchases (StoreKit 2)
• Stripe for payment processing (SparkyToolkit subscriptions)
• Supabase for database and authentication services
• Apple iCloud for data sync (Banjo Pro)
• Anthropic Claude API for AI features (Cobber AI in SparkyToolkit)
• ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com) for live currency exchange rates (Banjo). Only currency codes are sent; no personal data is transmitted.
• Dataquoll (dataquoll.io, operated by SEY Solutions) for public holiday, RDO and industry shutdown calendars (Smart Batch). Only a state and a date range are sent; no personal data, eProfiling data or account identifiers are transmitted.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

Data Storage and Security

Where data is stored on our servers, it is hosted on Supabase infrastructure in Sydney, Australia. We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption, JWT authentication, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for data processing
• Export your data in a portable format

For apps that store data locally (Melt, Banjo free tier), your data is already entirely under your control. Simply delete the app to remove all data.

Children's Privacy

Our apps and services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our apps and services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
