What Smart Batch Does

Smart Batch is a Chrome browser extension that automates the eProfiling card submission process on the Exemplar platform for Australian electrical apprentices. It reads your current eProfiling progress, identifies competency gaps, generates optimised cards using a greedy algorithm, and batch-submits them.

Data Collection

Smart Batch does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

Specifically:

• No personal information is collected (no names, emails, passwords, or identifiers)
• No browsing history or activity is tracked
• No analytics or telemetry data is sent to any server
• No cookies are set by the extension
• No data is transmitted to SEY Solutions, Jack Dempsey, or any third party

How the Extension Works

Smart Batch operates entirely within your browser:

• It reads page content on the Exemplar eProfiling platform (exemplar.com.au) to determine your current progress and available competencies
• All processing (scanning, algorithm, card generation) happens locally in your browser
• Form submissions are made directly to the Exemplar platform from your browser, exactly as if you were submitting them manually
• No data leaves your browser to any other destination

Permissions

Smart Batch requests the following Chrome extension permissions:

• activeTab — To read and interact with the Exemplar eProfiling page when you activate the extension
• Host permission (exemplar.com.au) — To access the eProfiling platform pages for scanning progress and submitting cards

These permissions are used solely to interact with the Exemplar eProfiling platform. The extension does not access any other websites or browser data.

Third-Party Services

Smart Batch does not use any third-party services, APIs, analytics platforms, or external servers. It does not make any network requests beyond the direct interactions with the Exemplar platform that you initiate.

Data Storage

Smart Batch may use Chrome's local storage API (chrome.storage.local) to save your extension preferences and session state. This data is stored entirely on your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and is deleted when you uninstall the extension.

Children's Privacy

Smart Batch is designed for use by electrical apprentices (typically aged 16+). It does not knowingly collect any information from children or anyone else.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will reflect the most recent revision.
